Smaller diameter lenses will not vault over the high irregularities found in these corneas. Optical zone not in pupil area, poor V.A.
A large diameter with a large optical zone is a MUST. Covers the irregularity and places optical zone in front of pupil for good V.A.

These cones require a larger diameter lens with a larger optical zone so the peripheral curves do not get in front of the pupil and cause poor vision. Poor positioning gives poor V.A. and possible poor corneal health.

Covers irregularity and places optical zone in pupil area and maintains good corneal health.

A large diameter is needed to vault over the host area. Potential to damage host/graft interface area and poor comfort. |
Covers graft area providing good comfort, V.A. and corneal health. Should the graft "sink" and flatten in the center, a reverse secondary curve design is best.
